Reg Dodd and Malcolm McKinnon will be discussing their new book, Talking Sideways. ‘That’s the way it is with us mob. We were brought up to talk kind of sideways. That’s the respectful, true Aboriginal way.’ Talking Sideways relates the story of Finniss Springs, a patch of Aboriginal land bordering Lake Eyre in outback South Australia. Part history, part memoir and part cultural road-map, the book presents a powerful and instructive yarn about country, community and family politics. Reg Dodd is an Arabunna Elder who grew up at Finniss Springs. Malcolm McKinnon is a long-time friend and collaborator. Bookings essential. You do not need to bring a ticket with you to this event.
