We are excited to host this special community screening of Backtrack Boys at Windsor RSL, that has scooped the Audience Awards for Best Documentary at the Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra Film Festivals. A group of troubled boys are on a perilous course toward jail until they meet up with a free-wheeling jackaroo, Bernie Shakeshaft, and hit the road with his legendary dog jumping team. This inspiring coming of age story follows the boys as they strive to turn their lives around - and the dogs that help tame their wild ways. When everyone else gives up on troubled kids like Zac, Tyrson and Rusty, they head to Back Track. It’s a place where they can feel safe, continue their education, but most importantly it’s where they learn to support each other and pursue their dreams.

We would love our community to be inspired by this film. All proceeds from this screening go directly to our youth programmes here in the Hawkesbury. Community solutions to community problems - one young person at a time Filmed over 2 years, this inspiring story reveals the challenges these young people face as they try to find their place in the world – all with the help of Bernie and his trusted dogs in tow.
