This is a hands on workshop where you will be working on your own motorcycle under instruction from a motorcycle mechanic where you’ll learn how to change and maintain your Chain and Sprockets. Learn how the drive chain and gearing works and how to inspect and maintain chain and sprockets. We'll assist you through a complete front sprocket, rear sprocket and chain replacement on the night. Course will cover the following topics as required: - How to inspect your chain and sprockets - How to clean your chain and sprockets - How sprockets affect gearing - Replace front sprocket - Replace rear sprocket - Replace chain You will need to source your own parts for this workshop. If you need help sourcing parts we are more than happy to help and can source on your behalf if you'd like a bit of extra assitance.
Parts for a typical 80's Japanese Motorcycle are approximatley (give or take): - Sprockets (front and rear) - $100 - Chain - $130 - Take home clean and lube kit $50 If you are not sure if your motorcycle is ready for new chain/sprockets please swing past and we'll check it out. (at no cost of course. ). Class is limited to 5 people and is the perfect way to learn how to tackle a chain and sprocket swap on your own in the future. PLEASE NOTE: Non-members must select 'Non-Member Pass' when purchasing a space in this course. Why? Because membership fees help to keep the Kommune alive. We provide exclusive benefits to members in return for their ongoing support. If you are not a member you can sign up here. Course is limited to 5 attendees per class.
Unfortunatley this class is not suitable for Big Twin Harley-Davidsons.
