Many parents identify their child as being a fussy or a picky eater, for various reasons. It can lead to highly unrelaxing mealtimes and is often incredibly worrying and stressful for parents and carers. • Does your child eat a limited number of foods? • Do they exclude certain food groups? • Does your child gag on certain textures? • Does your child have tantrums at the dinner table? If this sounds like you and your child, then this hands-on workshop is for you. Valerie Gent, a Paediatric Speech Pathologist (specialising in feeding) from Let’s Eat. Paediatric Speech Pathology, and Mandy dos Santos, a nutritionist and food scientist from Little People Nutrition, will nurture and empower you as parents on how to set (or reset) your child and family up for positive eating experiences.

We aim for you to leave the workshop understanding and identifying: Where you child is now, in terms of eating and where you would like them to be. Leaving with some clear, practical tools to take home with you. Some of the topics we will cover are: • Understanding the eating mechanism. • Understanding texture, taste and sensory cues for this age group. • Where your child lies on a “fussy eating scale”. • How to create a positive eating environment. • How to build your child’s trust of food. • Developing your child’s food preferences and eating patterns. • Nutritional guidelines for toddler to preschool age group. • Understanding processed foods. Valerie and Mandy are incredibly excited to be using this workshop as an opportunity to empower parents and their families with fussy eating knowledge but also to give back to women in need.

We are proud to say that 100% of the profits from this workshop will go to the “Got your back Sista” foundation. This wonderful organisation supports women and children after escaping the trauma of domestic violence. They have completed multiple projects in the Hunter Newcastle region. Cost: This workshop is a donation for attendance. On the night there will be a locked box and you will have the opportunity to pop in a note of your choice to support “Got your back Sista”. BUT please secure your spot on Eventbrite This will not only secure you a spot, but also ensure there are enough resources for you to take home. You are able to buy dinner and drinks on the night from the bowling club at your own cost.

This event is strictly for parents. If you are interested in professional development, please contact Val or Mandy to discuss other options. If you have any questions, please email Mandy at [email protected] or Val on [email protected]

Can't wait to attend and get some more ideas for our boys. Thank you for this great opportunity
