Are you finding it hard to wind down after a long day’s work? Are you forgetting things that usually don’t slip your mind and lacking clarity? Are you finding it hard to focus when your to-do list seems endless? If you answered YES to any of these questions this course is for you. I have drawn upon the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn, to present a formal, evidence-based program that assists participants to deal more effectively with stress. Scientific evidence-based research has proven that mindfulness can radically shift our experience and have a lasting impact on our ability to manage emotions and out-of-control thought processes, even altering the sensation of pain. This MBSR program introduces participants to an assortment of mindfulness tools and techniques designed to cultivate awareness, acceptance and compassion towards yourself and others.
Held in a supportive and structured space, and incorporating mindfulness meditation techniques and gentle physical movement, this 8-week MBSR program assists individuals to: EMPOWERING YOU to cultivate your own inner resources of wisdom, intuition and creativity, creating a deeper, more meaningful life Establishing new habits of mind and body Learning to live in the present moment Reducing stress and anxiety Moving beyond habitual negative patterns, learning to live life consciously and without judgment Enabling you to face any external challenges from a clear and calm centre. These themes and practices are reinforced and built upon in each succeeding week with: Guided mindfulness meditations A theoretical framework Gentle physical movement Group discussion and activities Take home activities for daily practice.
