Saturdays 10.00 - 11.30 am 17 Feb - 17 Mar 2018 ** 10 March class will be 3.00 - 4.30 pm ** Joymamma's Prenatal Yoga program provides an opportunity for you to gather weekly with other like minded women who wish to prepare for their labour and birth using yoga and meditation - a program designed to empower and support you throughout your journey to becoming a mother. Taught by Hypnobirthing Childbirth Educator and Birth Doula, Carrie Jeff, these sessions are more than just yoga. They combine childbirth education with hypnobirthing principles, yoga and meditation and will guide you gently through poses and techniques to prepare physically and mentally for birth. Classes with Carrie Jeff are taught under the guidelines of the internationally acclaimed International Yoga Teachers Association Australia's IYTA Pre & Post Natal Yoga Teacher Training, developed and taught by a Faculty of Senior IYTA teachers, who between them have expertise in midwifery, nursing, pre and post natal yoga, counselling, hypobirthing, calm birthing, infant massage and reviewed by a physiotherapist and chiropractor, with obstetric advice.
It is recognised as one of the most thorough and respected pre and post natal yoga teaching courses in the World. Yoga during pregnancy is slow, gentle and nurturing, but there is also an emphasis on building strength and stamina. With regular practice you will gain strength and flexibility needed for birth and learn how to open the body and get baby in the best position for a positive birthing. Yoga teaches you how to stay calm and grounded when things get intense - or don't go according to plan. We know birth is unpredictable, yoga can help you stay focused. The intention behind this program is to provide a nurturing space for women to come to during their pregnancy to absorb the benefits of a regular yoga practice and connect with women. Any missed classes can be used on Wednesday mornings at any time during your pregnancy, or in the next term, subject to available space.
